Floorball video game under development!

Prodigium Game Studios, a Finnish video game developer, is in the process of developing a Floorball video game. According to the developer’s website the game will feature teams from the Finnish Salibandyliiga, the Svenska SuperLigan (Sweden) as well as all the teams that will participate in the 2010 World Floorball Championships. Check out the video below which shows footage of the demo version that was released earlier this year. More information and a download of the demo can be found at the official website of the game www.fbl-game.com.

Wow, this looks awesome! Sounds like it's due to be released for Christmas. Fingers crossed it doesn't get blown out any later (the game's called FBL 2010, but the YouTube video had it called FBL 09, implying it was intended to be released last year).

Ha, that sounds like it could actually be fun. Do players get in your face if you make bad calls?

"the idea of the penquin mode is to control the referee. One (or two) players may act as a referee in the game. They can stop the game anytime, allow free hits, penalties, penalty shots, hit ins etc.. to teams.

To ease the referee control, somekind of "support" will most probably exist for the human-controlled referee from the game side. It helps the player to make the decisions by drawing somekind of feedback into the screen, this isn't completely desinged yet. However, the final desicion what happens next, is up to player him/herself. Currently we're implementing the AI referee to the game, and it's fully replaceable with gamepad / keyboard controls. We just still need to work out with the controller events and stuff like that a bit before we can get it to test bench"

Can't say I'm too familiar with floorball. But I have to admit, the video has me intrigued.
